News about HGN Gatherings and BUILDING SENSE

At the last HGN Gathering, Marc Scale, a member of the One Planet Council, talked about ‘One Planet Living’ – a concept adopted by the Welsh Government which encourages participants to live as lightly as possible on the earth. Anyone who missed it, or wants to see if again, can see the recording on the HGN Youtube channel. Click here to see the recording, along with recordings of other past Gatherings.

The next HGN Gathering will be on 19th April 5.30pm – 7.00pm, online. Andrew De La Haye will be speaking about Permaculture.

Permaculture is a holistic approach to growing food regeneratively, using methods that require minimal input from people whilst creating maximum habitats for wildlife. To book for this FREE online event Click here

BUILDING SENSE – creating comfort and cutting carbon

We had a huge amount of interest in our online talk on retrofit of heritage buildings, given last week by Elly Deacon Smith and Matt Hayes of Hereford-based Arbor Architects. For those of you who want to watch again, or missed it, it will be online soon. Sorry for the short delay this time.

Herefordshire Council is making people aware of some free roof and cavity wall insulation through the Connected for Warmth scheme – scroll down this page to find out more. And remember those free of charge home energy surveys and retrofit plans are available through FutureReadyHomes.

And there’s an excellent thread on Twitter from Dr Jan Rosenow, debunking the common myths on heat pumps – well worth a read.
